Bob, general use is 71 or 72" IIRC but i'd stick with the riser block on it with the 105" blade, just buy your self a 1/2" 3tpi blade for resawing and 1/4" 10 tpi for scroll work. Michael and Todd have more experience than me tho. Serge |

Todd, i bought myself the Timberwolf blades this week end, do you think they'll last long for what we do? I bought 1/2" for resaw and 1/4" for scroll. I bought them at Lee Valley, they should be good huh? Serge |
Finally - avoid the Delta and Ridgid-branded blades...they are dull before they go on the saw and seldom are properly welded and ground.
I could not agree more Todd, i think the RIDGID blades are the cheapest of the two. As you mentionned, Lee Valley's prices are decent and i wanted to try Timberwolf blades because alredily available but next time i'll try the the high carbon tipped ones or bi-metal like you advised. Thank you very much Todd, i really appreciate your input my friend. Serge |

I know of several suppliers for larger blades, but does anyone know of a good supplier for 3/4" and 1 1/4" stellite-tipped blades? |

This is addressing Bob's question, not Alan's (sorry, can't help you, Alan). Lou Iturra of Iturra Designs is a great source for blades and information. He doesn't have a web site, but you can call him toll-free at 866-883-8064 and get his catalog. The catalog itself is packed with information about 14" band saws, blades, accessories, etc etc etc. |
